FAQ

Who is UuLApp Designed For?

UuLApp is primarily aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 18 years old. This age range covers children from their first year of formal schooling (first grade) through to their senior year of high school.

Why is UuLApp Needed for Children Aged 6-12?

We want to make it very clear: as parents, we believe that children should be outside, playing with their friends in the yard, not glued to a screen all day. This is a core value we hold dear, and we do everything in our power to encourage it. However, we cannot ignore the reality we face today. There are already numerous apps and messengers available for children in this age group, and more are being developed every day.

The fact is, many children are playing online network games and communicating with other users. As parents, we must ask ourselves: how certain can we be that our child will not encounter inappropriate or unsafe situations, such as being approached by an adult with malicious intent? This is where UuLApp can make a significant difference. It’s crucial to act now, because waiting until our children are already immersed in these online spaces might be too late for us to provide the necessary guidance and protection.

UuLApp Game ID: Enhancing Safety in Gaming

To better serve both game companies and children, UuLApp introduces the concept of the "UuLApp Game ID." This unique ID will allow game companies to authenticate the age of users connecting to their platforms through UuLApp. This identification tool will help companies manage the communication features of their games, ensuring that users are interacting with others of a similar age.

By knowing the age of each player from the start, game companies can tailor their content appropriately, making their games more accessible for younger audiences. For example, they can simplify graphics or adjust gameplay to better suit children’s developmental levels, while maintaining a safe environment for their users. This will also help game developers more easily secure the necessary licenses to comply with age-related regulations.

UuLApp Alert: A Lifesaving Notification System

The inspiration for UuLApp’s Alert System came from a personal experience when a friend's child went missing. Fortunately, the child was quickly found, but this incident made us realize that children can sometimes go missing for reasons other than dangerous situations like abductions. Sometimes, kids go missing simply because they are upset with their parents or peers.

To address this, we have developed the UuLApp Alert system, which notifies both parents and older children (with the parents’ approval) about incidents in the local area, including situations where a child goes missing. We believe that children often visit areas where adults may not be aware, and this makes it harder to search for them. By notifying both parents and children in real-time, we believe the chances of locating a missing child will improve significantly. The scope of the alert system can be adjusted based on the circumstances, and any alerts will originate from local authorities, not from the UuLApp team.

UuLApp Informe: Global Disaster Notifications

In the summer of 2018, while on vacation in Mati, Greece, our family found ourselves in a life-threatening situation when a massive forest fire broke out. We were fortunate to escape unharmed, but the experience highlighted a critical gap: we received no early warning about the fire. This event prompted us to create the UuLApp Informe system, which aims to provide users—both parents and children—timely alerts about natural disasters or other emergency events.

Our goal is to provide authorities with an additional tool to alert the public, while also enabling users to inform one another about incidents around the world. For this system to work, we rely on a community-based approach: information must be confirmed by at least five different users before it is displayed to others. The system will be customizable based on users’ location preferences (e.g., by country or region). However, it's important to note that UuLApp's alert systems are designed to assist, not interfere with, the work of local authorities.

How Can a Child Register in UuLApp?

UuLApp’s registration system is designed to prioritize security and privacy. In order to register, only schools are authorized to create student accounts. The school will compile a list of students, including their age, education grade, and a parent’s email (with the parent’s consent). Each child will then be assigned a unique ID, which will be securely stored in the UuLApp system. Importantly, the school will maintain full control of the student list, and no copies of this list will be stored by UuLApp. Only the unique ID associated with each child will be retained by the platform.

This system ensures that no adult, other than authorized school personnel, can create an account for a child on UuLApp. Once the initial registration is completed, accounts will remain inactive until parents finalize the process. Parents will have a three-month window to complete the registration; after that period, if the registration is not finalized, the student’s account will be deleted, and re-registration will need to be done by the school.

What If a School Does Not Register My Child in UuLApp?

If a school delays or refuses to register your child, parents will still have the option to register their child independently. However, accounts created by parents without school consent will not have the same features. These accounts will be isolated from the rest of the UuLApp community, meaning the child will not be able to interact with other users or participate in group courses. While these accounts can still be used for e-learning services, they will lack the broader communication capabilities that come with a school-verified registration.

It’s important for parents to understand that for UuLApp to ensure safe, exclusive communication between children, the school’s consent and participation are essential. By joining forces, we can help make UuLApp an integral part of the global educational system.

Who Can Teach or Add Lessons in UuLApp?

UuLApp is designed not only to provide a safe platform for children, but also to foster education. To ensure that only qualified individuals contribute educational content, UuLApp has strict guidelines about who can add lessons or courses to the platform. Only licensed teachers or authorized representatives from educational institutions are allowed to submit courses.

While UuLApp cannot currently verify the legal status of teaching licenses in every country, we do require that teachers submit valid credentials. If we discover that an unqualified individual is teaching or uploading lessons, we will immediately remove their content from the platform and refund any fees collected. Our goal is to provide the highest quality educational content for children, and we take the integrity of the system seriously.

NGO Partnerships with UuLApp

UuLApp strongly supports nonprofit organizations (NGOs) that work for the benefit of children. As part of our mission to provide free educational services to all children, we offer NGOs access to the platform at no cost. We also envision a future where NGOs can provide psychological support to children, offering professional help for issues such as family violence, emotional distress, and other challenges that children may face.

Through UuLApp, we aim to create a global support network for children, with real-time assistance from professionals. In the future, the platform will incorporate an automatic translation system to ensure that children can receive help in their native language, no matter where they are located. All communications between children and professionals will remain confidential and anonymous. The ultimate goal is to establish a 24/7 psychological support system accessible to all children around the world.

How Does UuLApp’s Dynamic Training System Work?

UuLApp’s training system adapts to each child’s level of familiarity with the platform. As children become more comfortable using UuLApp, the system gradually reduces the number of help messages displayed. For example, if a child attempts to upload a photo, a helpful message will appear explaining the risks involved, such as the potential for others to access and share their image. Over time, as the child becomes more proficient with the platform, these messages will disappear.

This dynamic training system ensures that children receive the guidance they need to navigate UuLApp safely, without being overwhelmed by information.

The NGO Purpose: UuLApp’s Commitment to Children’s Welfare

Our mission is clear: to provide a free and safe e-learning platform for children worldwide, supported by NGOs and professionals. In return for the services we provide, we ask NGOs to assist us by offering psychological support to children within the UuLApp system. By working together, we aim to create a 24/7 global support network that will help children feel safe and secure in the digital world.
